How is Osteoarthritis treated?
Osteoarthritis only needs to be treated if it is painful or limits your activity. I treat you, not your X-Ray. The first treatments are activity modification with appropriate exercise and stretching. Next, plain Tylenlol or nutritional supplements can help. Next are anti-inflammatory medicines including Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen either over the counter or by perscription. Remember to tell your doctor if you are taking any of these. There are newer Cox II inhibitors including Vioxx and Celebrax which are very effective with fewer side effects or drug interactions.
